Ruston property owners vote 83 percent in favor of a 2.5 million revenue bond to fund a 14 509 KW steam turbine generator. Unofficial returns show strong support across polling places as bids are planned for November 14 with Christmas bid timing favored for bond sales.

Salvation Army fund drive kickoff dinner held at Trinity Church

The Salvation Army drive kickoff dinner occurred at Trinity Methodist Church with civic and local club representatives attending. Mrs Maude B Vincent distributed committee kits to district club members. Rev Eddie Morean Jr voiced concern for needy families and delayed welfare checks while noting the ongoing aid calls and the yearlong drive.

Break-in Nets $125 in Cash At Store Here

Approximately $1250 in cash mostly silver was taken in a break in at Spencer's Grocery Store on Cooktown Road between midnight and dawn. Entry came through a roof window. the window was pried with tools. Footprints and torn shelves indicated entry, with a door lock and key inside. cigarettes cartons also missing. Claude P. The Concord Association holds its Baptist meeting starting at 9 30 a m at Temple Baptist Ruston with reports from all associational departments. Isaac Glass Funeral Rites Set Saturday

Isaac Glass 77 retired farmer of Dubach died Friday morning after a long illness. He was a Baptist, born in Birmingham Alabama. Funeral services were held Saturday at Mineral Springs Baptist Church at 3 p.m. Rev Norman Tilbury officiating. Interment followed at Mineral Springs under Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Ruston.
