A fellow journalist and friend of The Leader, Tom Igoe was known for wide interests, culture, and a love of music and the arts. He supported schools, government, and the arts, opened a small cafe, and shared Refreshing talks and new ideas during visits to the office. He will be missed for his sincerity and pursuit of progress.

Lincoln Parish Police Jury met November 14 1961 in Ruston Louisiana. Members present discussed Change Order No 1 bids for crawler tractors and adopted Ordinance 291 setting the 1962 budget with detailed General Road and Hospital funds and multiple line items. The meeting covered hospital equipment bids and future bid advertising, plus routine financial powers and adjourned.
Mrs Wille McCain Rodrigues 84 of Simaboro died Thursday in Ruston Hospital after a short illness. Funeral services were at Spears Chapel at 2 p.m. Saturday with Rev Thomas Windsor and Rev A H Johnson officiating. Burial followed at Greenwood Cemetery. Survivors include three daughters Mrs Kennedy of Vicksburg and Mrs Hammett of Shreveport, and other relatives totaling 17 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
