Kiwanis Plans Annual Pancake Breakfast Friday

Kiwanis Club plans its annual Pancake Breakfast at Trinity Methodist Church hall from 6 to 9 AM with Red Reeves as chairman and Jack Thigpen president. Funds support programs for underprivileged children. meals feature pancakes with butter syrup and optional bacon or sausage, coffee ready for all. Tech Receives License For Isotope Lab

Louisiana Tech has received Atomic Energy Commission approval for a license to use radioisotopes for education research and development. License 17-7805-1 allows up to 19 millicuries per material with a 2412 millicurie total limit, and requires strict safety, security, and record-keeping. The Tech Nuclear Center, housed in the Engineering Annex, includes a reactor facility and laboratories. Forty-one millicuries of Cobalt-60 are currently on order pending license issuance.
