Golden Anniversary Of GAs Celebrated By Mrs. A. F. Holstead

The 50th anniversary of the G A of Blenville Association was celebrated with a banquet at the First Baptist Church in Arcadia. Mrs. Morris Murphy directed the program, with Mrs. Grady Lee delivering the keynote "Girls of Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow." Prizes honored costume winners Mrs. Ralph Beard, Miss Marcia Ann Murphy, Miss Donna King, and Miss Dell Woodard. Lincoln Parish Highway Projects Under Construction and Completed

Lincoln Parish has 101 miles of state and federal highway work in the past two years costing 13 286 294 dollars. Of this, 65 miles of new improvements cost 5 760 449 dollars already completed, with 36 miles under construction at 7 525 845 dollars. Major projects include nine miles tied to I-20 from Ruston to Choudrant and to Calhoun, plus resurfacing on SR 143 and SR 3072. Additional work includes 28 miles of local roads with new surface or repairs at 353 367 dollars. Burgess says more I-20 work is planned, including 14 miles to Arcadia at 7 401 258 dollars, and Nugent Road surface work on SR 3074. He notes a $60 million bond issue is sought to fund ongoing projects without tax increases.

Ten Minor Accidents Reported

Over the weekend ten minor accidents were reported to the Ruston Police Department. The incidents ranged from fender scratches to bumper fairing with no serious injuries. One Wednesday night about 3 00 a.m. a crash involving J A Westbrook and Charles Sitz left one person hospitalized for minor injuries and caused the Sitz car to rollover twice. Westbrook was discharged over the weekend.
