Four Fire Alarms Hit Saturday as Firefighters Respond

The local fire department answered four alarms Saturday. Two grass fires reported late in the afternoon were minor. A major blaze at 1 30 a m damaged a Washington Heights home owned by Lamie Lewis, with a severely burned visiting girl sent to Ruston Lincoln sanitarium. The fire, partly insured, caused heavy damage. A second alarm at 2 35 a m hit E A Thomas’s North Trenton home, also insured and badly damaged. An 11 35 a m alarm closed at Charles Grasso’s Ruston cleaning and pressing shop with slight damage and rapid extinguishment.
