The Louisiana Home Demonstration Council meeting in Choudrant featured Mrs R E Roberson on the State Safety Committee and a Michigan Lansing trip report. Attendees toured Choudrant Post Office and School, with Mrs O Neal showing the second grade room and children boarding a train observation car before continuing to Yardage Ford Motor Company for a depot visit.

Officers for 1961 62 of the Tech Geology Club were announced with Robert E Holder as president, Jimmy David as vice president and program chair, and James F Trickett as secretary treasurer. All are Shreveporters. Faculty sponsor Troy J Laswell will assume duties. Six students and three geology professors at Tech participated.
The Clay Demonstration Club met Tuesday afternoon May 9 at Mrs. R. C. Mattison home. Lionel Roundtree Forester of Continental Can Co. presented slides on Southern Woodlands and wood products. Reports covered Housing Nutrition Family Life. Refreshments served to numerous members and guests. June meeting planned with Ruth Kavanaugh. Bookmobile will stop in Clay May 16. Oil well progress and residents visits noted.
A field visit to the Wildlife and Fisheries Marine Biology Laboratory at Grand Terre aims to study local geologic conditions. Researchers collect bottom sediment samples to analyze the sediment type shaping the current ecological environment.

Port Arthur visitors J E Young, J T Edmiston relatives, and Ruth Kavanaugh attend gatherings. others join garden party and weekend get togethers.
Sulphur producers in Louisiana now ship almost all refined sulfur as a liquid. Molten sulfur travels by barge and tanker to Ohio, Tha nais, Maine, California, and Canada, staying above 260 Fahrenheit en route. Freeport forecasts about half of its output moved in liquid form this year through a new distribution network to compete with global producers.
