A busy Science Fair involved student and Mr Cook with parents exploring exhibits during a P T C night. The Simsboro High School Girl's Glee Club sang, and Mr Morelle Ermmons spoke on education. A Salt Mines field trip on March 10 enriched sixth and seventh graders before a transportation thanks to local supporters. Annual yearbook subscriptions are on sale through Pat McCuilin, Barbara Haley, Dean Lane, Eleanor Rodrigui, and Wanda Skinner.
Doug Colvin starts his eighth season at Dubach with 125 wins and three state runner ups. Returning lettermen include Bolby Sharp Ducky Colvin Douglas Britt Don Latan Junior Gerry and Joe Watts. The squad features Ducky Colvin Wolbbbe Sharer Junior Berry William Green with catchers Joe Watts Jackie Martine Lavon Brown and a mix of infielders outfielders. Rookies include Mick Davis Tie vad Jones James Muller Larry iherrig John Jdeffcoat Charles Fuller and Anthony Fulsom as Dubach prepares for a round robin tournament and a strong push toward the state playo?s.
The Ruston High 4-H Club met on Monday March 15 with Marty Fowler presiding Judy Delony led the pledges and minutes of February were read by secretary Mining Barnes Achievement Day planned for April 25 was discussed by Ona Blendin and guest J 0 LeVasseur County Agent A short play The Wires the Thing was performed by several members and then members viewed Achievement Day projects before continuing with activities
Dubach split a Friday double header beating Spearsville 1 0 in the opener as Jimiar Berry shut out Spearsville with a one hitter in the nightcap. Downsville visits Dubach Tuesday. the win left Dubach at 4 2 on the young season.
Louisiana Tech students in this city were initiated into the Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity Psi Chapter in its first initiation of the 1958 59 school year on Sunday March 15 1959. New members include Allen Guthrie James Van Vook Wayne Mandy and Gi Upelumeh all freshmen with majors in math chemical engineering mechanical engineering and pre medical studies. The event followed an invitation from the Pi Rapp Alpha chapter and featured a talk by Mr Levi som at Parish St Style Show.
