Napper Announces Restored 33000 Tech Budget Funds
Louisiana Rep L D Napper and Sen B R Patton reported restoring 33000 to Louisiana Tech in the general appropriation bill. Napper said the cut was fully restored plus a small extra, and Tech will get a share of a 25000 bond issue for state college spending. He noted a name change to Louisiana Tech University and suggested an amendment aimed at killing the bill might be removed. Napper praised Tech and Southwestern at Lafayette as the state’s top-qualified schools. The proposed legislative pay raise was expected to be killed, with Senate committee actions pending a conference with Governor Davis Napper Jett.
