Cotton and pest control guidance for growers
Agricultural notes advise before planting to consult experienced growers about tree age and spacing. Cotton farmers should monitor weevils closely with 25 percent square damage as a trigger to control. In Macon Ridge tests 1958, delaying poisoning until 25 percent infestation yielded best results, though soil conditions influenced timing. Insect control mailings will soon reach cotton allotments. Vaccination rules for calves updated to four to eight months for dairy and beef, with beef preferred 4 to 8 months. limited funds urge vaccination of replacement heifers.
