Ruston Music Club presents The Elijah at Trinity Methodist Church on Sunday January 29 at 3 30 p m featuring soloists from Gottschalk Music Club including John Tutto Rev G Avery Les and Mrs ZL Odes Mel Fike Thompson Mrs Mary Einneyer with L K Wells and Joe G Sheppard. Chamber of Commerce to Launch Membership Drive Thursday

Ruston Chamber of Commerce will begin its annual membership drive Thursday morning with 100 solicitors ready to work. Dues range from 12 to 500 annually, with firms paying 100, 300, and 500 noted. Awards offer public recognition for early and significant card completions, while workers are urged to concentrate efforts all day Thursday.

A K Garner lost his right thumb when a jack slipped while he was repairing a car at a filling station. The jack pinned his hand between the car frame and the fender, tearing the thumb off. Garner, bandaged and rueful, warned others to keep their heads out from under the vehicle.

Lloyd A. Goodin of Tursta r has been chosen as manager of the Texas Chamber of Commerce succeeding J. Gidewad Altdernigan Jr who resigned January 1.
