Fragmented wartime musings and local flood aid notes
A chaotic column references Virginia Judd and Elmer Zilch while mixing wartime chat about China Japan and Shreveport with flood response in Monroe and surrounding towns. It notes 1 000 workers on levees and a call for outside help 6 000 potential manpower, plus local praise for Monroe and Ruston aid and a joke song about washing clothes during war.
