Light Signals Installed At Main Crossings In City
Traffic light signals are being installed at principal street intersections citywide and will be in operation as they are completed. Eight signals at main crossings will be finished today per Mayor Charles C. Gayne. Signals will operate daily from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Parking lines along curbs are being marked to handle pre holiday traffic. A Christmas tree will be erected in the city park on North Rialroad Ave this week and lights will decorate the park. town ladies will decorate the tree.

Mrs. Tatum of Simsboro sustained injuries when her car overturned on the Dixie Overland highway west of town Tuesday afternoon. Her sister Mrs. Emmett Burt escaped injury. The accident also lacerated a shoulder and lower limb but Mrs. Burt and Mrs. Tatum are daughters of Rev. W. T. Strain of Simsboro. Mrs. Tatum received care at Ruston Lincoln sanitarium before being returned home.

Henry Wilson, 2, found guilty Tuesday by a Richland parish jury after deliberations of ten minutes for a criminal act against a young Black woman. He faces execution next Friday morning in New Orleans after a conference between Governor and district attorney. The condemned man is held in Ouachita parish jail where sentence was formally pronounced last Wednesday morning by Judge John R. Melntash of Oak Grove.
