Peach Growers Get Publicity Aid Plans Outlined
Ray M Stringfield of the Louisiana Crop Marketing Commission outlined plans to aid Peach Growers with publicity. Representatives will visit Lincoln parish around May 10 and stay through the season to July or mid August. Marvin Fowler says the early varieties should ripen about May 20 and the leaf crop is the best in 15 years. Weather may delay by 2 or 3 days, some hail damaged north area, and growers may need to remove up to 90 percent of fruit to ensure quality.
