The regular monthly Temple Workers Sunday School class met at Mrs hk S Alexander's home on Thursday afternoon April 9. Retired Teachers Meet In Monroe Home

Fifth District retired teachers gathered at Mrs. Louis Slater’s Wood Street home in Monroe on Thursday morning April 3. President R. J. Vining opened with Psalm 23 and led The Lord’s Prayer. He announced the state meeting in Bolton High School Alexandria on April 16 with an election of officers. He invited Ouachita teachers to Ruston during its 75th Anniversary May 2 to 9. A. McParland outlined changes in the Teacher Retirement Law, to be discussed at the April 16 state meeting. Program readers Mrs. McDowell led the day’s topics. several members contributed. Pilot Forest Dedicated In Service Tues

The Pilot forest of Continental Can Co on the Daniel McClure property near Arcadia was formally dedicated in services at Oak Grove Presbyterian church. Louisiana Forestry Association president Vortrees Young urged conservation and more pilot forest projects while VC Adkins explained forest project controls and dangers of improper burning. Visitors toured the 111 acre site as Continental Can workers assisted, with Lula Dante welcoming attendees and noting interest for landowners to join in pilot forest efforts.
