The reunion was held in the basement of the Christian church Sunday with eight relatives and friends attending. Relatives enjoyed a fine dinner and heard talks by Revs Foster Harmon and others. It was described as a great love feast.
The term begins with 203 students, about 20 fewer than last year, though the high school enrollment is higher than in the previous year. Officials express optimism for an excellent faculty performance and a successful school year.
Our correspondent reports a frost last Monday night that did not bite, possibly due to moonlight. Orville Wright visited an uncle near Atlanta. Anna Wright returned from Hamilton County after visiting her sister. John Renfro and family visited Perry C. Brooks in Marion. Mrs. George Coleman and Mrs. Nancy Hook of Tipton County visited John Wright’s family. Roy Wood and family spent Sunday at Kokomo City Park with relatives. Several attended the Exposition in Kokomo. Rev. Foster of Tipton preached his first sermon at Oakland, succeeding Rev. Wiles of Sheridan. Perry Morris shows off his new Ford yet forgets to exit, prompting his wife to remind him. School began at Pleasant Run with Earl McCool in charge. Arthur Hanson drives the hack-to-carry children. Patrons urged to cooperate for a successful term. A lost umbrella between Shanghai and Russiaville noted.
Local office advertises sale bill printing services inviting customers to obtain Ready Bills, catalogs, and notices for upcoming auctions and public sales.
Reunions at Jesse Catron’s home near Middlefork mark the week. Paris resident Mary Deevers visits her nephews Pat Carter and Mrs. Howard Smith, while 68 year old violinist owns a 106 year old Italian instrument. Local moves include John L Hodson arriving from Greentown to buy and ship ash timber for a Blufton firm. Baseball scores note the Indianapol is Grays 24 Russiaville Terrors 2 and Fat Men beat Lean Men 25 to 15. Dr. G W Kemp prepares township schoolhouses for term start and C Earl Hayworth serves as printer’s devil at the Observer after James E Carter’s resignation. Samuel Vawter visits Jeffersonville sister Jumma Ratcliff.
Warren Eikenberry of Koko mo traveled to town on Tuesday afternoon, appearing in local records and attracting onlookers. The brief sighting notes his presence without detailing purpose or events surrounding the visit.
Corinne Stout will attend Earnham College in Richmond this year.
Cal Clark of New London arrived in Russiaville last Tuesday morning. Amos Michaels and wife from near Michigantown were visitors Saturday night. Harold Vawter and wife Frank Vawter and daughter of Tipton, and Fred Vawter with wife and daughter were Sunday guests of Mrs. Emma Ratcliff.
Jay Albright of Anderson spent the first of the week in town visiting friends and relatives after eight years of residence in Los Angeles, California.
Russell DeWese will go to Crawfordsville next week to enter Wabash College. Norman and Mrs. Simpson of Kokomo were here Sunday attending the Taylor family reunion.
B C Nicholson of Kokome is mentioned with relatives in Russiaville from last Sunday in a brief local notice.
Lelan McReynolds will enter Defiance College in Defiance Ohio this term.
Mrs. Harold Vawter and niece Alice of Tipton Indiana and Mrs. Emma Ratcliff were entertained Monday at the home of Fred and Mrs. Vawter on West Main Street.
J Ord Fortner and his family left for Bloomingdale last week where he has secured an excellent position in schools.
Charles D. Carter of near Pendleton was a Russiaville visitor last Saturday. Chester Reagan will attend part of the sessions of the Friends Yearly Meeting at Plainfield.
The Kanable reunion will be held at the Howard County Fair Grounds next Sunday with a large turnout expected. Prominent locals are slated to attend and reminisce about past gatherings.
A 7 acre farm one mile south of town planned for public sale today did not sell as bids failed to meet expectations. The best bid recorded was 2100 dollars, leaving the property unsold.
A Home Coming Meeting will be held at Cloverdale on Sunday September 30. Rev Knox and several other old pastors will attend. It will be an all day event and attendees are asked to bring well filled baskets of provisions.
Ares Schoolhouse hosts a 1:00 a.m. service and extends invitation to nonmembers of any other school. Preaching Sundays at 7 p.m. Prayer Thursdays at 7 p.m. Dr. F Edwards serves as pastor and invites all to attend.

The Baptist Church invites all to Sunday School at 10:60 a.m. every Sunday. Preaching on the second and fourth Sundays, mornings and evenings. B Y P U meets Sunday evenings at 6:00 p.m. Prayer meeting is Thursday evenings at 7:00.
The notice lists weekly church events at Friends Church with Bible School at 9 45 a m Sunday morning preaching by Pastors Walter W Brown and Mellie M Brown and evening programs including Intermediate Christian Endeavor at 5 00 p m and Christian Endeavor at 6 00 p m followed by preaching at 7 00 p m The Browns are the pastors and invite all to attend.
About fifty people attended the Taylor family reunion Sunday at the home of oe and Mere on Union Street. A meeting was planned at the same place next year.
