The Frankfort Times reports Congressman Martin A. Morrison will be home for at least ten days in the ninth district. Appointment seekers in several towns expect him to visit during this period and press for post office postings.

Illustrated Song Service At Local Christian Church

The church will hold an Illustrated Song Service next Lordsday evening with a short sermon and a series of lantern slides on Scientific Temperance. A solo titled Father Dear Father Come Home with Me Now will be sung by Mrs Maude Swein and shown with a stereopticon using about thirty slides. State Evangelist L E Murray is expected to join in a side evangelistic series around early December.

Father Lehman Transition to Eternal Glory

Frederick Lehman born 1844 in Mecklenberg Schwerin fought 21 battles in the Franco Prussian War earning the Iron Cross. Immigrated to Iowa 1872 converted to Christianity, led Sabbath schools, taught reading to sing Sankey hymns, and died at 69 years 10 months 10 days. Family loss mourns with hope of reunion in heaven.

Ira Smith and other students visited the school on Monday. Juniors and Seniors gathered at Miss Gladys Seward’s home for a taffy party as Wayne Turner celebrated his 20th birthday with popcorn balls and cider.

Death notice for Elisha Prior Comer in Indiana records

Elisha Prior Comer born December 3, 1851 in Howard County Indiana near New London died November 8, 1913 aged 61 years 11 months. He joined the Christian church in youth and remained a member. He married Mary E. Bogue on December 12 1871 and had six children four survive. He leaves a widow four surviving children Nora Hobson Alta Davis Artis Comer Ima Lehman two died Elmer and Exie. He leaves five brothers and three sisters John H David W Linville Center Ind Hopsie Hercules Louisa Hollingsworth Center Mary Main Fairfield Nixon Phlox William H Kokomo Ind and Emeline deceased. He leaves eight grandchildren and one L Warren Hobson deceased.

Revival Meeting At M E Church Prepares Thanksgiving Sermon

The revival at the M E church continues with new songs praised and large attendance. Pastor B Harter announces a union Thanksgiving sermon at 10 30 a m on Thanksgiving morning November 27 1913, urging a broad turnout.

An Indoor Picnic at Hawkins Home

A Kokomo social at the home of Mr and Mrs John H Hawkins brought together members of the P J Harrison Post and Women s Relief Corps with guests from Russiaville. The decor honored national colors with songs speeches and warm thanks for the visit. Assisting hostess Mrs Hawkins were Mesdames O M Merrick Oliver L Evans Welcome Thompson and Luke Thomas.

Indiana school enrollment study shows one third out of school

A 1912 13 report from Indianapolis indicates one third of Indiana children of school age do not attend. Total enrollment 539,518 with an average daily attendance of 433,681. Enrollment drops with higher grades, from 58,962 in eighth grade to 20,664 in high school.
