Mrs. Josephine Cross, mother of Helen Cross, testified that the accident on Sixteenth Street and Central Avenue was unavoidable. She claimed Dr. Arthur H. Miller of Russellville drove the car and that Miller’s manslaughter case remains in police court while coroner Durham weighs the verdict. The testimony notes the car did not stop within 100 feet of the scene and that Miller moved the vehicle before police arrived.
The House votes unanimously to empower the Judiciary Committee to investigate Judge Cornelius Sanford of Seattle Washington for alleged habitual drunkenness court discrimination in favor of railroads and other corporations and related misconduct. Congress assigns Representatives Graham McCoy and Higgins to Seattle for firsthand inquiry. A separate funding issue may halt the Archbold inquiry if funds are blocked.
Work on the interurban line linking this city with Frankfort nears completion. Cars are expected to run within a few days with tracks laid into the new station and a regular schedule hoped for by July 4. Grading and raising the line to continue immediately.
