Katimavik program offers teen to nine month Canadian adventure
Russell teen Ashley Vermette will begin a nine month Katimavik experience joining hundreds of young Canadians. She will live in Vermilion Alberta Smith Falls Ontario and Cheticamp Nova Scotia volunteering about 35 hours weekly with a project leader guiding workshops on leadership languages environment and healthy living. Since 1977 over 28 000 youths have participated to gain civic responsibility and self confidence with the next cohort starting January 2008 and information at katimavik.org
