For the Prevention of Prairie Fires the Manitoba Fire Prevention Act requires protection of open prairie haystacks with a ploughed or burned ring at least eight feet wide, maintained by at least three men. It penalties those who fail to protect or who light fires around stacks without sufficient assistance.
