The act extends to volunteers domiciled in Canada who served with British forces in South Africa 1899-1902 or joined Canadian corps for the war. It grants two adjoining quarter-sections of Dominion land to each eligible volunteer or their representative, with conditions to reside and cultivate by specified deadlines. Substitutes must meet British subject status and age, with land entered in the substitute’s name and patent issued only after naturalization. A substitute may opt for land or one hundred and sixty dollars in scrip redeemable at face value.
Fanny Dominton opens sale under the Dominion Lands Act. Prospective scrip takers must notify the Minister of the Interior by December 31, 1910. Scrips are subject to sections 94, 96, 97 and 98, and entries and patents are exempt from homestead fees.

The Globe argues surveys show lands near Hudson Bay are valuable and ready for development. Profits could feed into Dominion revenue as fisheries, grain exports, and European goods move via a proposed railway. Prospects include cobalt finds and broader wealth for New Ontario and settlers.
The report notes that a principal figure in a spring mob incident died by suicide, ending their involvement in the case. Authorities had described the individual as a key organizer and public figure linked to the disturbance, with investigations continuing.
