New Canada recalls site unites health food and toy safety data

The Honourable Tony Clement, Gerry Ritz and Christian Paradis announced a centralized recall database at healthycanadians.gc.ca. It merges Health Canada and CFIA data, enables searches by keyword date product or company, and includes recalled children’s products photos for quick recognition.

Manitoba BizPaL to help small businesses reach more communities

The Manitoba government unveiled BizPaL a new online tool to simplify permit and licensing information for small firms. It will roll out to 11 municipalities including Dauphin Portage la Prairie Roblin Gilbert Plains Grandview Ethelbert Hillsburg and PARC towns. Officials say the system cuts red tape and streamlines business start up and expansion. The program currently serves Brandon Morden Thompson Winkler and Stanley with plans to expand further across the province.
