Ida Mary McLean daughter of Fr and Mrs Hugh McLean married Lester William Leifer of Russell at the United Church in Kenton. The ceremony featured Leifer and family attendance, a canopy of white streamers, and music by Miss Leifer and Rev Hamill. The couple will reside in Russell and traveled to Winnipeg after the ceremony. Out of town guests included the Leifers Nellin and Mar Celle, Stevens and Seifer families, Swindell, Cunninhem, and McKinnon relations.
Ferguson's hall in Angusville drew a full crowd on Thursday evening October 22 with citizens cheering speakers for the conservative candidate in Marquette Col. Harry A. Mullins. D. G. Nield presided as chair.
A Saturday meeting at MecRostie's Hall featured Cc. S Stevenson Progressive candidate Hon. T A Crerar and Mrs Downing attracting keen interest especially women. Crerar thanked electors for confidence and explained his departure from public life while defending Crow’s Nest Pass and Hudson Bay rail issues and tariff policy.

Hallowe en social at Fadcliffe School on the evening of the 36th includes a W J Bazaar Friday evening items such as woollen mitts and socks for all ages. Also dresses sweaters wool caps and aprons with many other goods. The Rmumig Sale offers items from an organ to a pile of skate. A four piece orchestra will provide good music after the bazaar and a dance.
Attendees gathered Thursday evening for an informal “At Home” hosted by Sheilmouth Mason. The note mentions upcoming winter sports announcements by W Arjone Wishm, plus scattered garbled phrases about people and places.
The Shellmouth Community Club schedules a Wednesday evening event on Nov 4 at Shellmouth hall with an improv variety program and cards. contributions requested to cover hall rental. Everett Cochrane suffered a broken leg after a pony fall while returning from school. A dance is planned at the school Friday evening with the Social Club expected to organize the season. Voting today is overseen by Deputy Returning Officer E B Stewart with about 259 names on the list. Snow and cold weather have halted threshing and other farm work.
A Harvest Festival service is planned for next Sunday evening at 7 30 in the Dropmore Community Hall conducted by Rev Nelson Smith of Russell. Mr Murray Shaw of Binscarth will substitute for Mr N Smith in Harrowby and Russell to enable the service in Dropmore. Following the evening service the Communion will be celebrated.
The people of Harrowby and surrounding district enjoyed an unusual pleasure with a home concert by Mrs. Cecil Curle Mrs. Francis Morrison of Winnipeg and Mr. Irvine Graham of Stockton Man at the Lee residence. Weather kept many away but the hosts hope for a future event with a larger audience and warm welcome.
The Inglis W M S met at Mrs T Jackson's home on Wednesday October 218 with good attendance. A special Thank offering meeting is set for Mrs R Breckenridge on November 4 with invitation extended to all. The November meeting at Mrs Bute's will include annual election of officers.
The list shows center grades headed last week by XI David Millar and Reginald Cartwright X, with IX Reta McMurary. Other top performers include Ellen Calvert VIII Wilma Wilson VI Rita Bell V Phyllis Chester and Archie Bridges.
Russell Agricultural Society reports a Demonstration Train with swine on tour. Hog end sows available for 28.50 with half cash and the balance due November 1 1926 at 7 percent. Train stops at the C.N.R. Station on Saturday the 21st.

The A. and N. V ladies will distribute the World War I poppy on Saturday November 7 to honor sacrifices and solicit support. An Armistice Banquet for veterans is set for Wednesday November 15 at 7 30 p.m. at the Queen's Hotel. Tickets available from C J Maher Russell.

The diving service is planned for next Sunday afternoon if travel by motor from Russell is possible. Mr. Murray Shaw of Binscarth will officiate if the motor trip is feasible.
The Rev. D. D. Millar expects to lead anniversary services in Oakburn next Sunday with Rev. Mr. Austin of Oakburn in charge here. The Young Women's Club moves its bazaar to Saturday December 5 and will meet Monday evening November 2 at Mrs. J. Currie's home.
The official nomination shows all seats contested. In the maritime provinces 28 Liberals and 28 Conservatives run. New Brunswick has two Independents. Quebec fields 149 candidates for 65 seats. Ontario lists 186 contestants for 82 seats with varied party splits. Manitoba Saskatchewan Alberta British Columbia Yukon each report multiple Liberal Conservative and other party candidates seeking election.
