RCMP report notes charges and incidents in region
Two people were charged under the Liquor Control Act for driving impairments and two others for driving with a suspended license. Unlawful possession of liquor in a motor vehicle led to charges. An assault on Waywayseecappo Reserve had no charges laid. A daylight collision east of Rossburn killed a deer with no other injuries. A Rossburn resident was committed under the Mental Health Act.
Act delays and learning period cited by officials
Thompson says the act is fairly comprehensive and will take time to implement with people adapting to new controls. Driedger notes initial bugs cause frustration until the system works properly. The act can be viewed at the RM of Russell office. Official license forms are not ready but will come from Water Resources in Neepawa and local ag offices, possibly via municipal offices later.
