Transportation Week Observance Planned Across Canada
Transportation Minister Samuel Uskiw backs National Transportation Week from May 29 to June 10. He will sign a brass plaque carried by two Laval University students tracing voyageurs history. In Winnipeg a large aircraft model display will run May 29 to June 4 at the airport mezzanine, featuring Concorde Boeing 737 and 767 DC10 models and a hanging display of smaller aircraft.

Manitoba government offers four point package in MMA talks
Health Minister Laurent Desjardins outlined a four point proposal to the Manitoba Medical Association to wrap up negotiations within a week. The plan includes a one year agreement from April 1 1983, a 3.4 percent fee increase, a two year binding arbitration trial, and a clause barring job action. The government notes arbitration would be binding on both sides and praises the MMA for its stance amid economic pressures. A final review will occur at a further meeting next week.
