Tom Obedniak of Russell Manitoba died March 31 2012 at the Russell Personal Care Home aged 94 with family by his side. Born September 27 1917 in the R M of Rossburn to Andrew and Anastasia Obedniak he married Sylvia Maydaniuk on November 18 1948. They farmed in Glen Elmo before moving to Russell in 1983 for retirement.

Five years ago Marcella fell and broke her shoulder. From the hospital she moved to the care home in Russell. The staff loved her, she always had a smile and a wink, and even when sick she kept a cheer. They called her the Iris to name a few.
