Sunlit sunroom planned for pallia tive care unit
A gala featured pearls of wisdom and a charity auction raising funds for a new sunroom at the hospital. Architect Georg Voelkel says the sunroom will have large natural-light windows, a fireplace, year round comfort with floor heating and cooling, and full wheelchair accessibility from the palliative care rooms to ease visits for patients and families during hard times. Construction starts in spring after snow melts with early exterior work finished before the sunroom tie in.
