Dream Barn of Saskatchewan A Century Ago

In Inbetween Leader Saskatchewan visitors can view a foundation and replica of North America’s largest barn built by William Theodore Smith in 1914. The 400 by 128 by 60 foot structure housed 2,000 horses 1,600 mules and 10,000 sheep with a staff of 160 and two cooks. The grand opening drew Canadians and Americans for a barn dance as the dream faded after Smith’s death in 1918 and the barn was torn down.
