Manitoba Senator Gil Molgat Dies After Stroke
Manitoba Senator Gil Molgat, Canada’s second-longest serving senator, died Wednesday after a massive stroke. The House of Commons observed a minute of silence. Molgat was named to the Senate in 1970 by Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau. Funeral held March 5 at St. Boniface Basilica.
