Manitoba Homestead Activity Drives Provincial Grant Push
An A N McDonald tribute notes Manitoba’s Rockwood Old Timers campaign to secure a provincial herd. January saw 233 free grant homesteads filed across Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta, and British Columbia, up 18 from last year, plus 47 soldier grants, down one from 1924. Totals by province show Manitoba 38, Saskatchewan 13, Alberta 3, British Columbia 5 for homesteads. soldier grants split 9 in Manitoba, 28 in Saskatchewan, 9 in Alberta, 0 in BC. Combined grants cover about 44 800 acres.
