Fifteen Names Added To Electors Roll At Town Meeting
The Town Council acting as a Court of Revision adopted the 1939 electors roll prepared by Assessor H. Clee after striking some names and adding others for a net increase of 15 from last year. Regular business included bills for electric light and town services, fifteen residents were granted permission to keep pigs, and Mrs B Payne was appointed acting secretary-treasurer from July 14 to August 14 while C J Mather is on holiday.

Twin Brae Child Injured By Lumber Accident
A seven year old girl named Isabel Mintenko fell victim to a lumber mishap last week when a pile toppled over her. An older plank used as a crossbeam absorbed most of the weight, sparing her life. Local note recalls a hail storm last Friday with no reported damage. Kokoradz’s cream truck resumed service after heavy rains, much appreciated by farmers. Mrs J R Robertson’s mother is seriously ill at Starbuck. Eva McIntyre visited Mrs Gus Ross over the weekend.

Harness Races Planned for Fair at Decker Grounds

Successful field day held Monday at Rus sell Agricultural Society
The Rus sell Agricultural Society sponsored a farm machinery field day on Monday with over 200 farmers in attendance. Stan Tallman and Lorne Carter led demonstrations on land opening, moldboard plow adjustments, one way disc setups, and tractor fuel tests showing rubber wheeled models used 18 percent less fuel than steel wheels. Rubber tires slipped 2 percent more than steel in tests, and horsepower was estimated via a dynamometer reading the draft to pull the disc.

Hamiota visitors enjoy outing at nursery
A large party from Hamiota spent an enjoyable day at The Manitoba Hardy Plant Nursery last Friday. They toured the grounds, admired the blooms, and enjoyed a picnic. Proprietor F. L. Skinner has added many improvements, making the spot a district highlight. Six carloads returned via the Russell tourist camp for an evening stop.
