The Ride for Hope charity grew from farmers gathering around a pickup tailgate to raise funds for families faced with medical costs. Since its start, it has donated over $207,000 through a July weekend trail ride near St. Lazare, supporting residents within fifty miles and reviewable by a three-person board.
The RoundUp for Research in Russell drew volunteers from the community to jail or help outreach, raising over $5,000 for kidney research. Prisoners and volunteers danced and sang for pledges, with top earner Martin Kratochvil collecting $700 and others like Chris Radford over $400. The event combined education, awareness, and fundraising across regions.
