A reader challenges council coverage of compensation for a flooded basement. She argues the flood was not divine will, cites repeated lift station alarm calls, and urges councillors to inspect Mr Katchin’s home to understand cleanup costs and ongoing water problems on their street.

Skunk trapping program continues in Winnipeg
Provincial and City of Winnipeg authorities persist in trapping skunks and investigating reports of abnormal animal behavior in Winnipeg and district. By June 19, 37 skunks had been caught. 2% traps remain mainly in Charleswood and Fort Garry with some in Southdale and North Kildonan. Health minister Bud Sherman urges vaccination for pets and warns against handling wild animals showing abnormal behavior. Report sightings or incidents to the City of Winnipeg dog pound via 946-0155. The program targets rabies reduction, focusing on skunks as the primary local reservoir.
