Elks Plan Big Dominion Day Fest at Silver Beach

Russell Lodge Wins Gad Gillan Trophy for Best Manitoba Lodge

Russell Elks Lodge earned the Gad Gillan Trophy from the Manitoba Elks Association for top lodge activities. The camp at Silver Beech cost about 100000 to build and furnish. Russell contributed to Save the Children Fund and the International Appeal for Children and aided community projects. RB Clark of Minnedosa became association president and R W Kennedy of Russell was elected second vice president.

Russell Motorcycle Exhibition At Manitoba Fair Grounds

Russell riders and the Manitoba Motor levele Benefit Riders Association present a 2.5 hour show at the local fair grounds next Wednesday evening. Sixteen champions including Fred Moulson Bill Kalke and Chuck Noakes perform speed and trick events with a flaming board wall crash as a highlight. Advance tickets available and a large crowd is expected for the 7:30 p.m. start on June 28. Grandstand seating is free for early arrivals.
