Roots of Empathy wraps year with grade three cohort
The Roots of Empathy program concludes as Leanne Bily's grade three class celebrates ten months of watching baby Willa Saley grow. Willa, born August 7 2015, and mother Sarah joined ROE, started in Manitoba by Iris Furman, aiming to lower aggression through social and emotional learning. Certificates praise students as future citizens and changers. Manitoba notes ROE began as a pilot in 2001 with thousands of participants across kindergarten to grade 8 over 13 years.
