In Silverton hall last Friday week the Sewing Club and school juniors held Achievement Day. Mise Stewert of the Extension Service praised the work. Dora Berney placed second, Cochrane top in terms work. A large crowd enjoyed ice cream and cake as the UAW and Miss Jean Scott marked birthday events and a June program was reported.

Funeral for Mrs Calvert Held at Knox United Church
The late Mrs Jas Calvert died Monday June 16 after long illness. Born November 4 1854 in Sharon Ontario she moved with her parents to Hamilton district and then across the prairies settling near Millwood before moving to Re Vital. She was active in Knox United Church teaching Sunday School singing in the choir and WMS member. Survived by husband one daughter Mrs Thos Robinson of Riscarth Man two sons Charles and Calvert at home brothers and a sister. Funeral Thursday June 18 at Knox United Church with interment at Binacarth cemetery.

Ward Furnished Sacred Heart Hospital by Mrs Storey
Mrs F T Storey has furnished a hospital ward in Sacred Heart Hospital in memory of her late husband. The room features a new bed set with springs and mattress a cedar lined wardrobe studio lounge dresser china tea set a silver set and linen and resembles a drawing room rather than a ward. The hospital staff and community thank Mrs Storey and Senator Jullins who donated 100 to furnish another ward. A community effort is suggested to furnish a ward in memory of the men who saved lives in the Great War.
