Miss Berwick spent the weekend in Miniota with Young Folks Club events described as very successful. The Busy Bees elected officers and praised cemetery improvements. Many locals attend funerals, visits, and a large July Twelfth celebration plans dominate Angusville news with civic repairs, fund grants, and regional social activity.
Shellmouth news notes a family trip home to La Pieche Sask from Swan River Man and mentions local events. Senior Ridgway, banker at La Pieche, hosted a Sunday service at United Church with Rev. Graham and organ recital by L Aickens. J Bryant family visited, and the WI monthly meeting is set for Thursday June 18 with Roll Call My Favorite Recreation.
Local items report a June wedding in Souris for Morris and Olive Barlow with Rossburn residents attending. Several residents visit Brandon, Winniperg, Edmonton, Red Deer, and other towns. A car accident near Portage caused minor injuries. Rosshorn hosts a strawberry social. Vistz Baseball beat Rossburn juniors 12 to 4.
In a Beaver Rapid cemetery funeral, Thos T Selby pioneer of the McAuley Fort Ellice area was buried. A Northwest Rebellion veteran with Tom's Scouts he was noted on Batoche and Fish Creek despatches. Survived by three sons John E Guy and Robert and duties on Ellice council and as municipal assessor.
In Silverton hall last Friday week the Sewing Club and school juniors held Achievement Day. Mise Stewert of the Extension Service praised the work. Dora Berney placed second, Cochrane top in terms work. A large crowd enjoyed ice cream and cake as the UAW and Miss Jean Scott marked birthday events and a June program was reported.
The late Mrs Jas Calvert died Monday June 16 after long illness. Born November 4 1854 in Sharon Ontario she moved with her parents to Hamilton district and then across the prairies settling near Millwood before moving to Re Vital. She was active in Knox United Church teaching Sunday School singing in the choir and WMS member. Survived by husband one daughter Mrs Thos Robinson of Riscarth Man two sons Charles and Calvert at home brothers and a sister. Funeral Thursday June 18 at Knox United Church with interment at Binacarth cemetery.

Local notices list Brightside Picnic on June 25 and a July 24 baseball tournament at Russell plus June 26 events. Community items mention visiting relatives, theatre showings, church activities, a public works project, and the death of Chester Wishart with funeral details.
Mrs F T Storey has furnished a hospital ward in Sacred Heart Hospital in memory of her late husband. The room features a new bed set with springs and mattress a cedar lined wardrobe studio lounge dresser china tea set a silver set and linen and resembles a drawing room rather than a ward. The hospital staff and community thank Mrs Storey and Senator Jullins who donated 100 to furnish another ward. A community effort is suggested to furnish a ward in memory of the men who saved lives in the Great War.
The Russell Curlers sponsor a baseball tournament on June 26 to raise funds for the Northwestern Bonspiel Fund. Teams from Bismarck Valley Dunseith and Page ND enter. Play starts 1:20 PM with three afternoon games and a rematch for thirds. Winners meet at 6:20 PM for first prize.
