Municipality of Silver Creek presents an abstract of receipts and expenditures for the year 1909. Henry Tileman, Auditor, reports the financial activity from January 1 to December 31, 1909, with the formal statement prepared for official record.
June updates pass with farms and businesses expanding. R Coulter begins barn construction in Silver Creek while Owen Burdette opens a restaurant in Ledingham block. Community notices include church service, railway work, a Grand Lodge appointment, and amateur sports preparations.
An Agricultural Society extension meeting was held in Wright’s Hall on Friday. Speakers W R Chubb and A Rigby discussed cereal and fodder crops and stock care including horses. A deputation presented Dr Thomas A Wright with an engraved retirement address and honor as Life Member of the Russell Electoral Division Agricultural Society.
Sixth annual Shoal Summer School to be held in Shoal Lake in July 2026 under the Portage la Prairie Neepawa Birtle and Yorkton districts. Sessions will be at the Narrows and focus on teaching the craft of this work to attendees.
The timetable lists an exam schedule from Wednesday June 22 through Friday June 24. Subjects include Reading Regulations History Oral Reading Composition Writing Mental Arithmetic Spelling Grammar Geography Oral Music Arithmetic Drawing with specific time blocks and fallback sessions if needed.
