Hire A Student program ends with thanks and figures
The Hire A Student program closes July 31 after a season with 176 students registered and 81 placed in regular jobs. In Russell Binscarth the year created 38 full time and 34 casual positions, while Rossburn Angusville and Birtle Foxwarren areas showed notable placements. The H A S manager thanks Doug MacIsaac Helen Fosty and the Chamber of Commerce and notes the program’s growth and future hopes for next year. Health Minister Bud Sherman announced two first year medical students will start eleven weeks of rural practice in Manitoba under the Incentive Program for Rural Practice, with support for travel maintenance and stipends.
