Manitoba extends tax credits to boost mineral exploration
Manitoba will renew the Mineral Exploration Tax Credit providing a 10 percent credit for flow-through share investors, atop the federal 15 percent ITC, to spur exploration in the Thompson nickel belt and other provinces. MEAP and Prospectors Assistance support ongoing projects amid a strong mining year with $2 billion in mineral production and a $46.9 million exploration spend. BHP Billiton also pledged $15 million to probe Potash reserves in Russell-Binscarth.
