Connell met Agee July 4 with all members present. Minutes from June 6 adopted as read. Council to fence roadway on West half of sections 16,19,27 for permission to acquire road at half mile. A grant of 100 dollars to assist in opening road between sections. John Crerar, Jas A Bell, Reeve, Secy.
Arrangements are near complete for the wre race meet at Puscell Fair on the Zlet and 22nd. The track is being prepared to be safe and fast with good drainage and top dressing. Officials include Sid Tibbatts as judge, John Porter for Harness, Alf Yeandle and Billy Barry starting, Bob Thompson as clerk, EB deBalinharg and George Simms as paddock stewards, and JF Ton as racing secretary. Strong entries expected in sprint and longer races with past Derby contenders named. The chariot and harness contests return after a year, with horses urged to send entries promptly for stableing and printed program.
Two long time Roblin residents were buried after recent deaths. Mrs A W Forfar, born Alice May Johnston in Scarborough Ontario, died at Roblin leaving a daughter Nellie and sons Ernest Carl Hubert. Rev Robert Harvey led the service at the home with many attendees. Also mourned was EB Mover born in Devonshire who came west in 1900 and lived near Russell. He was married to Miss Davidson.
Years later he moved to Tumnell near Roblin where he farmed for years. The funeral was at the home with a talied Church minister. Interment followed in Tumnell cemetery. He was a United church member. Survived by a widow two daughters Hattie at home and Mrs. Clarence Kines of Tumnell. four sons George Roblin Reg Tumnell Charles Portage la Prairie and Fred Los Angeles.
Suh Sunday after Trinity services listed with Sunday School at 11 a.m. and Evensong at 7 p.m. The preacher will be Rev. Harry P. Barrett, Rector of Oak Lake.
A recent gathering at Mrs. Geo Duns residence organized the Trinity Ladies' Guild with Mrs Duns as Treasurer and Mrs W Léé as Secretary to support the parish church and the Woman's Auxiliary to the Missionaries Society of the Canadian church. The sermon and evensong at 3 p.m. will proceed only if roads between Harrowby and Shellmouth are passable.
Mr and Mrs L L Lewis and family with Leslie Anderson left for Melita on Saturday for a Sunday return. A Melita aunt and others planned a stylish event. Trail Rangers seek a good camp site, visiting Look Out Tower and Forest Reserve north of Glen Tim, deciding the site is ideal but not final. Little Fish Lake offered the best bathing though fish were scarce. Mrs Breckenridge Inglis visited, Mrs Burgess returned from Winnipeg, choir was missed due to holidays, and Miss Brooks is away. Alex Staples visits relatives as Boyle School House drew a large congregation for hymn book purchases.
Sunday morning at St Cuthbert's Shellmouth features Matins and Holy Baptism at 11 o'clock. The Rev H P Barrett will preach and visit the parish during a short holiday, meeting many old friends. Five more Dropmore candidates join the Confirmation class.
Tonight at the Silver Beach Pavilion the crowd gathers for dancing. Mrs Jas Calyert and family from Russell visit Do Drops Inn while Mr R Mutch returns from Brandon Fair with his family at Rest a Bi Inn. Local names attend, and parking spaces fill as festive events continue.
Mentioned are Kett Martin Marshall McDonagh and Reggie Cartwright hosting with Mr and Mrs R Coulter and Mrs Hatsteck as guests of Mrs Calvert on a Monday. Mrs M Couter holidaying with Mrs J Calvert.
On Friday evening July 3 a group met at Mrs R Mulligan home to bid farewell to Miss Gunn popular schoolteacher of Tuckersmith before her departure to Emerson Manitoba. Mr Ackroyd chaired the event with songs recitations and an address read. Master Bobbie Nichol presented a set of eight pieces of French china and Miss Gunn expressed warm thanks and regret at leaving.
The Angusville school lists students by grade with passes and honors. Names include Fred Puska Eric Chapman Frank Chaytor in Grade VIII, Mike Stawychny Miroslav Mayowsky among Grade VII, and Uberta Ross Nathalia Mayowsky Harry Lewis in Grade VI Honors. Grades III to II show multiple students advancing with honors and some failures noted, under Teacher C Shewfelt.
The day passed off very successfully with ideal weather and a fine crowd. The ladies catering the lunch were pleased with the result. Contests included girls races for various age groups with winners such as Winnie Hooper Rhoda Wise Elsie Rae Edith Wise and K Simms among others plus a 196 yard race won by K Simms Nettie DaPre and others.
A detailed account of races and events at Endcliffe and Royston school day activities. Children won medals in running, three legged races, and gymkhana events. Baseball games featured Endcliffe juniors and a tense 9 8 finish after extra innings. A community dance closed the day with a pageant and a spelling match prize.
About 5 hundred Americans visited last week to inspect Milton Setters land holdings totaling around 1800 acres in crop. With Setter currently in California no definite terms are known yet and if the sale proceeds it would be among the largest land deals in the district.

Russell Agricultural Society plans a two day fair on July 21 and 22 with a large live stock exhibit and a fine program of horse races baseball and other attractions. Organizers expect ideal weather to help make 1925 a record year.
The team played on the road nearly every day, winning first prize at Birtle and Togo, and at Churchbridge, Inglis, Kamsack, Shoal Lake, and Virden with Smith back in the lineup. Intermediates split prizes at Birtle July 1, beating Shoal Lake 6 3 and holding Selsgirth 1 0, aided by Gorell Slack and Gordon Clee. Maple Leaf Ball team from Clifford earned second prize at Birtle. An exhibition game at Churchbridge vs Russell drew a good crowd, ending 7 8 with the home team on top.
Meetings will be held in District No 5 at multiple towns.
