Manitoba Centennial Farms awards recognize century land ownership
The Manitoba Historical Society began the Century Farms Awards in 1980, recognizing 645 farm families for 100 years or more of land held by direct descendants. Criteria include a minimum 50 acre parcel and proof via heirloom records or Land Titles. The program now allows farms owned for a century and later sold to still qualify. Applications go through local Ag offices.
