Shellmouth Reservoir operation status reviewed by committee

Shellmouth Reservoir Regulation Liaison Committee updates on reservoir levels and downstream flows along the Assiniboine. The reservoir sits at 1405.9 feet after a 1385.7 foot record low on April 10 1997 to provide flood storage. Outflow was kept at 25 cfs at peak runoff, rising to 1500 cfs on April 29 1997, then 1600 cfs by May 21 and easing to 1200 900 cfs on May 22 30 to aid drying. The panel endorses 900 cfs until 1404.0 feet and then gradual reductions toward 1402.5 feet with better inflow forecasting and expanded snow survey suggested.
