The Farm Dugout and Winter Olympics Memories
A 10 year old recalls building a new farm dugout with a snowy hill used as a makeshift ski slope during the 1976 Winter Olympics. The dugout waters the livestock, ice forms a bowl, and dangerous crevasses appear as melt fills the basin. A Brown Swiss cow drowns in the mud, and readers are invited to note deer behavior notes from Ken Kingdon, Narden Service communications officer.
