Riding Mountain set to replace Minnedosa in provincial boundaries
Manitoba Electoral Boundaries Commission proposes abolishing Minnedosa riding and merging large portions into Russell to form Riding Mountain. Leanne Rowat, MLA, says Rivers north would join the new riding, southern Riding Mountain includes part of the national park, while Souris moves to Arthur Virden and Wawanesa to Turtle Mountain. Rowat cites travel burden as constituencies grow. Derkach notes gains and losses across Russell while expressing optimism for regional growth.
