Potash plant expansion to add 400 jobs in Rocanville
The Potash Corporation of Saskatchewan announced a 1.8 billion expansion at Rocanville that will create about 400 construction jobs and raise total employment to roughly 570 when complete. The year also saw youth curlers from Binscarth and others placing in the Manitoba Curling Association event, and local council debates a multi use recreation facility. A fatal hit and run near Elphinstone drew public pleas, while Park West schools faced security concerns over a Grade 12 English exam. Jon Montgomery won the national men's skeleton, narrowly beating Jeff Pain by .02 seconds.
