Shellmouth reservoir operation plan endorsed by committee
The Shellmouth Reservoir Liaison Committee endorses a water operating plan for 400 cfs releases to maintain storage for spring floods. Elevation now 1396.8 ft, expected to drop to 1389.8 ft by April 1, 1997, yielding higher spring water levels than last year and reducing flooding in the Shellmouth valley. The panel will monitor winter snow conditions for possible changes and notes a carp kill occurred due to deep drawdown, with effects on fish spawning to appear in 3–4 years.
