The government outlines eight public meetings across Manitoba to gather input on French language service amendments. Judy reports a new Russell physician Dr. Lee B Sc MD FRCP born June 11 1947 in Winnipeg. A Manitoba graduate 1968 and MD 1972 73 straight medicine internship at Health Sciences Centre followed by residency. He continued at Health Sciences Centre and spent a year in Ann Arbor Michigan then from 1977 to 10 practiced with the Active Medical Staff in Internal Medicine.
Rural public libraries will receive operating grants amounting to 43 882 for the 1963 fiscal year under a revised formula. The program blends a basic grant to match municipal support at up to 3 50 per capita with an equalization grant for municipalities where a 1 35 mill levy yields less than 8 50 per capita and an incentive grant to boost municipal funding.

The Manitoba Legislature gave third reading and final passage to Bill 3, the Farm Lands Ownership Act, in amended form. Amendments preserve pre act land holdings by former owners, set proclamation timing to cabinet, allow non farm cooperations to buy and sell farm interests within limits, and permit family farm corporation shareholders to will shares to any person regardless of residence.
Westman Media Co-operative Ltd schedules an afternoon meeting at 2 pm to amend by-laws, restrict regional capital retention while allowing August 4 1962 subscribers to participate in patronage dividends, report on programming committee activities, and provide members with a report. An announcement will soon indicate plans to extend services to 10 towns.
