Fields Stores revitalize towns with value focused outlets
Crowder describes Fields Stores as offering affordable general merchandise in an extreme dollar format with prices ending in a dollar. The Hudson Bay subsidiary plans rapid expansion with 28 new stores in 2007 and 40 to 70 more in coming years while contributing to downtown revitalization in towns like Russell. The 6,000 square foot Russell location employs eight locals and operates seven days a week.
