Town Visitors Bid Summer Swirl of Chats with Mayor
Last week of July Ralph and June Betke visited town along with Cam and Ron Collins known as the Collivers and Fosters from Town. They toured lawns gardens and vegetable plots and spoke with Mayor Langford who remarked on his high spirits. They invited everyone to Texas this winter and Don Betke mentioned being in Calgary.

Minutes of the Meals on Wheels annual meeting held August 2 1985 at 1 30 p m in the hospital boardroom led by President Evelyn Whitmer. Attendees included Coordinators Margaret Ostapowich Pauline Bridges and Secretary Treasurer Dave Silversides. The 1984 minutes were adopted. Financials show a May 31 1985 bank balance of 87 90 and petty cash 1 82. Donations were received from the Town of Russell and the Legion Auxiliary. Four new styrofoam containers with secure lids were approved for purchase. The group served 1056 meals to 16 people with heat retention concerns to be addressed. The hospital dietary staff will be recognized and dishes reimbursed when funds allow. Minutes to be sent to the Russell Banner. The meeting adjourned.
