Scheffeleras are superb long lined house plants with mature leaves often a foot across and many leaflets. In northern Australia natives use a single leaf as a sun parasol, giving credence to the name Australian umbrella tree. Young plants have simple leaves 2-3 inches wide.

Accident Claims Life Of Local Resident Les Gish
Funeral services were held for Leslie L. Gish 65 of Rusk at Wallace-Thompson Chapel after he died from injuries from a Saturday auto accident in Tyler. He owned Pineview Restaurant during seven years in Rusk and is survived by his wife Ligia, two sisters, and several relatives. Burial was at Cedar Hill Cemetery with pallbearers and honorary members named.

Patients at Rusk State Hospital participate in the Home Arts Therapy Program with 45 to 50 attendees per session. Under Martha Coates, ten staff guide crafts from dolls to embroidery Monday through Thursday and Friday mornings. Proceeds from items sold at the Clothing Center and the annual Arts and Crafts Fair fund more materials and the program, with volunteers assisting.
