Redistricting Plans Move Forward in Cherokee County
County Judge Orvan B. Jones says redistricting of Commissioner's and Justice precincts and voting precincts is under study with Supreme Court guidelines. The plan aims for 8,002 people per Commissioner's precinct, potential fewer voting boxes, and changes to precinct boundaries. Court delays due to a hospitalized commissioner and a defeated candidate may affect timing, with hopes for action by January 1, 1973.
